2024 Fall Dates coming Soon
The emphasis of this exercise based workshop is to introduce the participant to the integrative human performance model that applies to any student/professional in the fields of movement including rehabilitation therapy, body work (massage, rolf, etc), kinesiology, biomechanics, fitness and high end athletic development.
It will allow the practitioner to evaluate and intervene via specific movement tests and exercises that re-establishes optimal tension of the NeuroMyoFascial system. This is a highly practical course that will take into account the style of exercises and movements the practitioner performs with their clients. Application to both joint and soft tissue problems will be covered.
This is a 4 module workshop style series that will apply the above principles and techniques to the whole body. Theoretical portion will demonstrated or discussed in a practical format.
Each 2 day workshop will allow both fitness and health professionals to evaluate the body by creating a neuromechanical profile of the individual. This evaluation includes specific ROM/Movement tests that seek out tightness/instability synergy and NMFR (Neuromyofascial Response) tests which are types of tests that allow the practitioner to understand the individuals connectivity to muscles and facial stability.
Neuromyofascial “circuit breakers” will be introduced. This consists of how dysfunction in neural connectivity in surrounding areas of the body can inhibit a local area and vice versa. Specific resistance patterns will be shown with the ultimate goal of re-establishing optimal neuromechanics.
This will be a hands on course.
Practitioners will be able to apply what they learn in their practice immediately.
A movement screen for fitness and healthcare professionals that will allow them to quickly and systematically determine the neuromechanics of specific joints as well as the neuromechanics of integrated functional motion. This bridges the gap between observing compensatory motion during exercise and truly understanding where the root problem is coming from. By the end of the course the professional will be able to perform the screen, analyze the findings and determine which exercises and activities are appropriate for the client. Corrective measures will be discussed.
Dev graduated from McGill University’s faculty of medicine with a Bachelors of Science in Physiotherapy during which he acquired a thorough training in the neurological and biomechanical principals of human movement and exercise.
Over the last 27 years, he has implemented these principles in rehabilitation and high performance athletics while continually exploring and learning about the bioenergetics of human performance.
Dev Chatterjee’s work is geared towards cutting edge performance training and neuromechanical assessment and intervention. He is sought after for his work to assess and create the highest quality movements that patients and athletes can achieve. He has lectured and given workshops all over North America.
He is the owner of Omni Athletix / Therapeutix a wellness and performance clinic in the West Island of Montreal where he works with the general public including patients with underlying disease as well as renowned elite and professional athletes.
Dev is also the founder of the M.E.T.A. Movement Project. He is partnered with world renowned interventional cardiologist and fitness enthusiast Dr. Nicolo Piazza who will head up the medical science division. This company will provide high end consultation to clients, education to all fitness, medical and paramedical practitioner, and execute clinical research to explore and understand the interconnectivity of the human body.
